Traffic noise is omnipresent. the TV tootles at home, HiFi, Radio on the way, Smartphones, mp3-Player, comercial roar in the supermarket. Advertising slides itself optically and actustically in the picture. Without sound some can’t hold out anymore. Noise stresses and makes us sick. Quietness would be to feel ourselves,  to endure, to rest, to recover, to enjoy. Healing. A priceless enrichment.

18 artists show their positions with Objects, photography, painting, graphics, video, sound, performance:

Performance PRZEPRAZAM Fr. 3.2., 19 Uhr: Exercises in survival within the information smog.

PRZEPRASZAM – Team art activists on many plains of the creative exploration: Performance, sound installations, video art, social projects, animation of the culture, music, painting. Founded at the beginning of 2015 in Łódź in Poland by Ola Kozioł and Suavas Lewy.

Exercises in survival within the information smog.

When you turn up the music, you start speaking more loudly. When you are in a busy city area, you need to use stronger sound intensity to make communication possible. We start shouting and the chaos gets greater. Additionally, we are attacked from everywhere, from the press, television, the Internet, suffocating in ‚the smog‘ of the meaningless content. Submitting to this trend causes the intensification of the problem and increases the chaos.

In our performance, we propose an alternative approach to the problem.

Acting the other way round, thinking in the utopian way, if we all start turning ourselves down, the chaos will start weakening. The chaos will need to ease off itself to be able to hear our sounds, our message. The chaos will learn to hear. And then we have got the chance to learn to hear as well. We will hear each other. This can turns out to be the best weapon in the fight with ‚the smog‘, ‚the occupier‘ who blurs, trivialises and waters down the core of coexistence. Through the repetitiveness of the activity, we want to get the state close to meditation in order to bring out the essence and the value of the message. It is the time to focus on what we hear inside us, who we are, what we have got to convey and how to find in ‚the smog‘ the consonance with surroundings.

During the activities, we welcome the audience involvement.

SVORADOV THEATRE

SVORADOV THEATRE

SVORADOV THEATRE

Svoradov Theatre was created in Svoradov st. in Bratislava by greek director Triantafyllos Bostantzis.

Silencio (also known as BREATH) is a performance slightly inspired by Samuel Beckett’s minimal 25 seconds time play Breath. All human life is just a breath between two cries in rubbish. Other infuences, except Beckett, are David Lynch’s Mullholland Drive sequense in club „Silencio“ and Theodor Adorno’s philosophical book Negative Dialectics. Lynch shows a world where all is „just a tape“ and Adorno suggests that after Auschwitz „all culture is for rubbish“. Our performance touches the narrative of Auschwitz, where they died out millions of breaths and then there was silence. As Adorno says „the fact that Auschwitz happened despite all tradition of philosophy, art and science shows in a way that culture, civilization, spirit can not move and change people“.
