Artists for Future

Exhibition “Artists for Future” Fridays 17- 20 o clock

Exhibition, talks, lecture 1.11. – 13.12.2019

Marlboro. Artists for Future. (C) T.A.

Marlboro. Artists for Future. (C) T.A. A brand image of “freedom and adventure”. But the model for the cowboy Marlboro Man died as a result of lung cancer. A symbol of the end of the dream to subdue nature.

The individual starts building insect hotels, cultivating bees in the city, gardening urbanly. Renewable energies and organic farming are increasing. Citizens measure their ecological footprint. Climate protection agreements are being made worldwide.

The reversal happens too slowly. Today, islands sink, climate refugees come, weather extremes increase, species die, heavy rain floods. The young generation demonstrates for real climate protection. The scientists warn. The governing politics does not move. The German government wants to leave the lignite late. The citizen drives SUV, eats his daily meat, flies short trips, denies climate change.

We as artists worry about what our future will look like. As artists  we support the protests for more climate and environmental protection. As artists, we contribute to the world of the future. What do these posts look like?

We got over 100 applications by artists from whom we selected strong, exciting works. The artist list will be published here soon.
